2017-2018 New Student Registration


2018-2019 Kindergarten Registration will open in April. More information to follow. 

In order to start the student registration process, a student must reside in the school district's attendance area at the time of registration. A student must turn 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2017 in order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year.

At the school board meeting held Tuesday, August 1, the board voted to place a freeze effective immediately on new enrollment for Gold Hill Elementary first-grade students who have not completed the enrollment process prior to the close of business on August 2. New students who have not completed this process prior to close of business on August 2 will now attend Tega Cay Elementary.

The board also voted to place a new enrollment freeze on all grades at Gold Hill Elementary effective at 3:30 p.m. September 1. Students who have not completed the enrollment or registration process prior to 3:30 p.m. September 1 will attend Tega Cay Elementary beginning September 5.

At the school board meeting held Tuesday, August 22, the board voted to place a freeze on new student enrollment for all grades at Doby's Bridge Elementary School, effective at 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 15. Students who have not completed the enrollment or registration process at Doby's Bridge Elementary prior to 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 15 will be assigned to an elementary school to be determined by the administration based on enrollment and capacity. 

Step 1 - Registration Gateway (Online Portal)

Account Set-Up
The registration process begins by using the district’s secure, online registration system called Registration Gateway. Parents of new students will need to establish a new account in Registration Gateway. The same account can be used to register multiple students. This account will also be used to re-enroll your student in subsequent school years. The link to Registration Gateway - Step 1 is located at the bottom of this web page.

Assigned School By Address
Parents/guardians will need to know which school their child will attend based on their residence before they start the registration process. Click here to verify your address using York County's online school locator tool.


Step 2 - Presentation of Required Documentation - In Person Registration Completion

After registering online (step 1) and scheduling an appointment (part of step 1), parents are to bring required documentation (noted below) to their assigned school.

Bring the required documentation to your registration appointment . . .

Your Child's Legal Birth Certificate with Seal. A mother’s copy or a hospital copy is not acceptable.

SC Certificate of Immunization. All immunizations must be recorded on a SC Certificate of Immunization. The Rock Hill Health Department provides this service; call 803-909-7300 for an appointment or for more information.

Proof of Fort Mill Residency.
Acceptable documents include a deed, certificate of occupancy, closing statement (indicating building completion), rental lease agreement with official signatures, or a real estate tax receipt. Mortgage statements, utility bills or vehicle property tax receipts are not accepted as proof of residency documents.

Instructional Fee. A $30 fee (i.e.: cash, check, VISA, or Mastercard).

Custody Papers. If applicable.

Middle and High School (Grades 6-12). A copy of your child’s unofficial transcript (ideal) or latest report card from their previous school.

documentation is presented, as described in Step 2.
