COVID Testing

COVID-19 Testing Information and Process

Beginning Monday, January 11, 2021, the Fort Mill School District will be providing COVID-19 testing for students and staff who are displaying symptoms of COVID-19. Rapid COVID-19 tests will be administered to eligible students and staff, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., by appointment only, at the Catawba Ridge High School Sports Complex. Please review the information below regarding testing eligibility, process and scheduling an appointment.

Testing Requirements

*Must be a current Fort Mill School District student or staff member. (Includes FMVA students and staff.)

*Testing is only available to individuals who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms. (The rapid test is NOT for individuals who are asymptomatic.)

*Testing is by appointment ONLY. (Individuals may not access the test site without an appointment.)

*Consent to receive testing is required for all individuals.

Testing Procedure

*Please click on the student or staff link below to schedule your appointment.

*The district will administer the Abbott BinaxNOW rapid antigen test.

*Tests will be administered by a registered nurse.

*Appointments will be available Monday-Friday from 9:00-11:45. (Excluding holidays.)

*Individuals will park their vehicle in the designated area, then walk through the gates into the stadium to the testing site. Once completed individuals will return to their vehicle and exit the complex.

*Test results will be communicated to families by phone and through a follow-up letter by the end of the day. (Students and staff must continue to quarantine while awaiting test results.)

*Test site is located at the Sports Complex at Catawba Ridge High School, access from Whites Road. (Click here for a map.) Please do not enter the main Catawba Ridge High School entrance.

*Anyone experiencing symptoms that receives a negative test result from the rapid test are highly encouraged to have a PCR test performed to confirm the negative result.

*Students or staff who receive a negative test result should not return to school until symptoms have improved.

*Students or staff exhibiting symptoms should not return to school on the same day the test was administered regardless of results.
