During the 2022 Teacher of the Year celebration held Thursday, April 7, at the Fort Mill District Training Facility, the district announced the five District Honor Roll Teachers of the Year.

As previously announced DHEC no longer requires schools to contact trace and quarantine students or staff for close/household contact to a positive COVID-19 individual if the school has had two consecutive one week periods of less than 10% of students and staff absent due to COVID-19 (testing positive or having symptoms).

The CDC Foundation is hiring for School Disease Intervention Specialists. This is a limited term position with salary ranging from $55,000-65,000.

During the holiday break the CDC announced new information regarding COVID-19 isolation and quarantine protocols. Based on this new information, DHEC has now updated the School Exclusion List for isolation and quarantine protocols related to COVID-19.

The district has received further clarification on the use of eLearning days as related to COVID-19. Based on this new information, the district will not schedule eLearning for December 20-21 as previously announced and will adjust our school calendar to begin winter break for students on Monday, December 20.

The district has updated its COVID-19 response plan based on new information released by SC DHEC on Oct. 13.

The district administrative team has completed a review of the federal court injunction that lifted the ban on mask mandates in South Carolina, along with information provided by the South Carolina Department of Education and district legal counsel. Based on this review and data related to COVID-19 cases in our district, the administration has decided the use of face coverings will remain optional at this time.

Beginning Monday, October 4, 2021, the Fort Mill Schools will provide COVID-19 testing, in partnership with Mako Medical and the Anne Springs Close Greenway, for students and staff who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, or who are quarantined from school due to close contact and require a test for early return.
